JADE
Director / Master Instructor
Meet Jade, Pilates Queen, Mumma of Two and the beauty and brains behind Powered by Pilates!
After suffering a shoulder injury, Jade was introduced to Pilates as part of her recovery. After experiencing great results, she was curious to understand Pilates more intently and quickly discovered it was the control in the movement that gave her more power and strength. A fuse was lit! From here, Jade wanted to help other people learn to have better movement everyday using control (or controlology as Mr Pilates used to call it!).
After 14 years as a student of pilates and 11 years as an instructor, Jade has truly found her calling! She loves that what she teaches truly helps people understand their own body and work with it, not against it like other exercises. She loves the connectivity between the mind and muscle that enables a person's muscle control in their daily movement to make their lives better.
Jade runs PBP alongside her husband Richard. They have two beautiful children and a community that they love. What does Jade do when not in the studio? When she gets the time, you’ll find her reading a book on the deck at home or sitting by the beach enjoying a bit of quiet time!

RICHARD
Director / Master Instructor
Meet Richard, dedicated Pilates instructor and co-business owner of Powered by Pilates!
Introduced to the world of Pilates by his wife Jade, Richard swiftly embraced the holistic challenge it offered, using the contrology teachings of Pilates to compliment and in a lot of areas replace his weight training routine. Transitioning from a corporate career, he sought a more purposeful path that could spread the benefits that Pilates can bring to the mind and body, regardless of fitness levels.
With a solid 8 years of both practice and teaching under his belt, Richard derives immense satisfaction from enlightening clients about the transformative potential of Pilates in their daily routines - especially men in this fitness field. His genuine joy comes from witnessing clients master basic technique and them progress to conquer what they once may have believed too hard or not possible.
When he's not at the studio, Richard treasures family time, football (round ball) matches, and mastering the fine art of cooking up a storm on the BBQ or Smoker.

ALYCE
Barre / Pilates Instructor
Meet Alyce!
After discovering mat pilates as a teenager as part of dance class warm ups and strengthening, Alyce developed a passion for reformer pilates in 2015 when rehabbing old ballet injuries.
Interested in learning more about pilates to further her own understanding, Alyce fell in love with the movement and what it could do for others like her, prompting her to become a qualified teacher in 2021 and teaches Reformer, Mat Pilates and Barre! She loves making pilates accessible for all levels of fitness and helping others move their bodies pain free.
When not in the studio Alyce enjoys time with friends, trying out new restaurants, taking day trips to the coast or doing a ghost tour! Ooooooooo

MEGAN
Pilates Instructor
Megan's Pilates journey began unexpectedly, sparked by a chance conversation with Jade, the owner of the studio. From that moment, she was captivated, describing it as the best investment. Her transition from student to instructor unfolded gradually, driven by her passion for Pilates' adaptability spanning a lifetime. Teaching diverse individuals with varying needs and motivations, Megan finds joy in customizing each class's energy and focus, transforming routines into fresh challenges.
In her role, she relishes exploring different movement approaches, crafting unique classes every time. Memorable moments abound, from a student mastering a subtle detail to hearing how her guidance enhanced a client's everyday activities.
Beyond Pilates, Megan's background in architecture and design, coupled with her curiosity for obscure trivia, enriches her life. Her favorite exercise, the Running Man, embodies strength and fluidity, evoking a rush of endorphins.
At Powered by Pilates (PBP), collaboration is key. Clients actively engage in this spirit, fostering a familial atmosphere that transcends fitness. Megan emphasizes the unspoken teamwork, a supportive environment where individual goals thrive amid collective success. PBP isn't just a studio; it's a nurturing family thriving on mutual encouragement and shared accomplishments.

RANI
Pilates Instructor
Rani has enjoyed an 18-year long career as a professional ballet dancer in companies such as the Netherland Dance Theatre, The Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and was recently Ballet Mistress and Creative Associate for Queensland Ballet. Throughout her extensive career, Rani has always practiced Pilates and relied on it as a foundation to maintain strength and muscle balance in preparation for daily ballet classes, rehearsals, performances, to aid with injury prevention and at times used for injury rehabilitation when sustaining an injury from such a physically demanding profession.
Since retiring from stage 12 years ago, Rani has loved teaching Pilates, Dance, Barre and working as a choreographer, producer, rehearsal director and movement coach. Rani finds the fundamental disciplines of exercise to be extremely beneficial to people from all walks of life, experiences, and fitness levels and believes in living a life of balance, where the mind and body are connected through movement.
There are so many parallels in both the principals of dance and Pilates, so Rani feels passionate about teaching correct technique above all else, believing this is the path to a steady and true improvement in ability and function. Rani loves being able to connect with people and help them enrich their lives by feeling fit and strong, hoping to add years to one’s life and life to their years with a balanced and positive approach to wellness and exercise.
Outside the studio, Rani loves spending time with her 9-year-old twins, who she describes as fun, inquisitive, vibrant, kind, and loving little people. Along with her partner of two years, Rani and her kids spend their rare quiet time together, cooking delicious and healthy dinners, taking a walk-in nature or spending time at the beach. Rani also enjoys reading and the occasional mind-numbing TV show (don't we all Rani)!

LINDA
Pilates Instructor
As most of our instructors, Linda discovered pilates as part of physio treatment. Being treated for her positional headaches and lower back injuries back in 2008 (right around the time reformers were beginning to be introduced into physio rooms as a treatment source), she was instructed in Pilates by none other than founder (and Pilates Queen) Jade! And the rest, as they say, is history!
Linda loves to share her passion about the benefits of pilates for maintaining movement and mobility of the body through all stages of aging and the injury/rehabilitation process. She likes to encourage as much movement independence as possible in clients, aiming for clients to reach the ultimate goal of being able to get up off the ground without any/with limited external aid or assistance.
In 2020, during the covid period, Linda’s regular reformer studio, spurred her on to completing the reformer instructing course. Once completed, she kicked off her instructing career for PBP once the studio lockdown was lifted. As a previous primary school teacher, instructing is in Linda’s blood. She loves witnessing that “Ah-ha”moment when a client finds/feels the targeted muscle/muscle group being focussed on in an exercise.
Outside the studio she is spending time with her family, in full grandparent mode! You’ll also find her spending time in her large garden (which she attributes as a major source of her injuries for which pilates is her recovery tool!).
